Connolly Bove Attorneys Speak on Delaware Corporate Law Issues in Taiwan

Wilmington, DEConnolly Bove lawyers Kevin F. Brady and Zhun Lu, Ph.D. spoke at a number of events in Taipei Taiwan from November 30 through December 4, 2009 as members of the Delaware legal delegation led by Justice Randy J. Holland of the Delaware Supreme Court.  At the Taiwan Corporate Governance Annual Conference on December 2, 2009 Brady spoke on several panels, discussing Delaware corporate law as well as current issues in regulatory reform and corporate governance, including the responsibilities of independent directors.  In addition, Brady and Lu spoke about corporate governance matters at a number of other venues including the Taiwan Stock Exchange, Soochow University Law School, and the Taiwan Law Society meeting.

Taiwan’s Chief Justice Lai is currently establishing a commercial court system in Taiwan, and during the last two years, he has sent delegations of judges from Taiwan to Delaware to meet with the Supreme Court, Court of Chancery and the Superior Court.  Connolly Bove has invited these delegations to visit the firm, as well.  Lu and Jeremy D. Anderson, an associate in the firm’s Business Group, also attended the 2008 Taiwan Corporate Governance Annual Conference last December.

Brady is a Partner and co-chair of the Business Law Group, and the chair of the Information Security, Electronic Discovery and Records Management Group. He represents clients in a variety of areas including corporate litigation, commercial litigation, electronic discovery and records management, insurance litigation and arbitration and mediation.

Lu is the Director of the firm's Asian Pacific Practice and an associate in the firm's Intellectual Property Group.  He represents clients in a variety of areas including patent counseling, opinions, litigation, and prosecution primarily in the biotech, biomedical, pharmaceutical, and chemical areas. He also advises clients on corporate matters relating to IP management.
