Washington, DC is a dynamic city. Our Washington office places us at the center of the legislative and executive branches of government and provides a convenient venue to observe and comment on history as it is made, to research law as it develops, and to understand technology as it emerges.
Centrally located at 1875 Eye Street NW, our office places the Firm close to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, the International Trade Commission and other offices of the executive branch. In addition, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit – the appellate court in which all patent appeals are brought – is within walking distance.
Near our Washington office are a wide range of shops, restaurants, and parks. This location is an easy commute to the District’s many trendy neighborhoods like Georgetown and Dupont Circle, as well as the Maryland and Northern Virginia suburbs. No longer the city that President Kennedy described as having “northern charm and southern efficiency,” Washington is a “livable” world-class city with broad educational, cultural, recreational, and athletic opportunities.
Business in DC
The metropolitan area is rapidly blossoming. Previously dominated by the government sector, the Washington employment market is now technology driven since the number of employees in technology now exceeds the number of government jobs. Continued growth in this sector is natural because Washington is the home of many institutions of higher learning, offering degrees in a diverse array of disciplines. Many of our attorneys have degrees from universities within the area.
Life Outside the Office
The combination of technology jobs, universities, and government has generated a young vibrant atmosphere in the Washington area. World-class museums, new and exciting restaurants, the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts and other legitimate and repertory theaters, the MCI Center, and our nation's most precious monuments and memorials are among the many attractions in the downtown area and nearby suburbs.
The Washington area also offers a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunities. The Mall, the Chesapeake Bay, Annapolis, the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Colonial Williamsburg, the Shenandoah Valley, major sporting events, and even the Maryland and Delaware beaches are just a few of the many choice spots frequented by people living in this area.
